About Our Organizations
The Find Cynthia Philanthropic Foundation is a separate and independent nonprofit organization from the Find Cynthia Coalition.
Although both organizations were inspired by a shared commitment to serving others, each operates independently with its own mission, leadership, governance, and programs.
The Find Cynthia Philanthropic Foundation was created to honor Cynthia’s legacy of being a giving and thoughtful person. It is one of her core personality traits. We also left the circle open in the logo above as a reminder that her missing person case remains unresolved. The plant indicates planting seeds in others that will bloom in the future.
The Find Cynthia Philanthropic Foundation is dedicated to providing meaningful support to individuals and families facing hardship. It’s mission focuses on expanding access to educational opportunities through scholarships and vocational assistance. The Foundation strives to empower individuals by helping them overcome barriers, build stability, and create opportunities for a brighter future.
The Find Cynthia Coalition, is an advocacy and awareness organization dedicated to seeking answers in the disappearance of Cynthia Alvoid (Bah-Traore). The Coalition works to raise public awareness about Cynthia's case, support efforts to uncover what happened, and advocate for accountability.
Beyond Cynthia's case, the Coalition is committed to improving investigative practices, promoting equitable treatment in missing persons cases, and advocating for policies that strengthen investigations for all missing persons—particularly women of color, people with disabilities, and other historically underserved communities.
While the Foundation and the Coalition share values of compassion, justice, and community service, they pursue these goals through distinct and independent missions. Together, they reflect a commitment to both supporting those affected by hardship today and advancing systemic improvements that can better serve families in the future.
Board Members
The Philanthropic Foundation is guided by a dedicated Board of Directors who provide strategic leadership, oversight, and stewardship of the Foundation's mission. Our board members are committed to advancing educational opportunities, ensuring responsible governance, and helping the Foundation make a meaningful and lasting impact in the communities we serve.
We are thankful for their service as several are attorneys, leaders in their industry, and/or tenured leaders who are dedicated to the Foundation’s cause.
Our board members serve on a volunteer basis, generously contributing their time, expertise, and leadership to further the Foundation's mission.
The Find Cynthia Philanthropic Foundation is a nonprofit organization. Our application for recognition as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code is currently pending with the IRS.
